Monday Inspiration – Map It Out

Another week.  Another Monday.  Another round of inspiration.

I’ve had E’s room on my mind a lot lately.

I’m kind of beginning to accept that it might never really be finished, but that’s okay.

Chasing after this little guy is much more fun!

I’ll just move into visions of phase two… toddler room.

Right now I’m obsessing a little bit over maps.

Yes, maps.

I’ve always loved the quirky interest and personal spin that they can give a space – especially a child’s room.

I first fell in love a few years ago (This was P.B. – Pre-Baby), when I saw the sweetest vintage school map.

You know, the kind that roll down?

It was adorable (and at that time, pretty unique), and I knew then that I wanted something like it in my kiddo’s room someday.  Even though they’re pretty common now, I still love them and find them just as adorable as ever!

So many inspiration pics floating around to choose from!

It’s such a great way to add a bit of your story to a space.  I already have some cool maps of LA and Texas hanging up at home.  They give me the “warm fuzzies” every time I see them.

Now I’m on the hunt for the perfect vintage world map for E’s toddler room… Just add that to the TO-DO list, right?

Maybe I’ll just make one like my awesome friend Jennifer did on her blog Brave New Home! (I love all of her DIY goodies!)

What do you think of using maps for decoration?

Love it?  Hate it?  Let me know!

  1. Thanks for the mention, Tiina! You know I love me some maps. I hope you can find a home for one in your little’s room. My little guy is three and a half and I feel like his room is never done—he keeps doing this thing where he grows and evolves and I have to keep updating his space to reflect that ; ]
