As I’m slowly getting back into the blogging mindset, I’ve come to the realization that all I can think about is finally completing E’s nursery.
Sorry, this is yet another baby post… but with some design roots.
You see, because we were waiting to finalize the adoption, I also waited on putting together the nursery. Which means that for nine months I had design ideas swirling around in my head. That’s a good thing, and a bad thing.
Good that I had time to refine, edit, and re-imagine E’s nursery (and soon to be toddler room) design.
Bad that I had time to refine, edit, and re-imagine E’s nursery design…
(In the mean time, the poor baby has been laying his head in the semi-cleared out
storage guest room.
Maybe his current conditions will help him appreciate his new nursery?
Maybe he’s going to resent me for not bringing him home to a finished room?
Maybe he’s just a baby and doesn’t really care either way?
Yeah, it’s probably that one. )
So after editing the concept over and over again, here’s what I’ve come up with. A playful space with a sense of humor (… ahem… Anchorman inspired throw pillow…), but with key pieces that he can grow into. One thing not pictured is the current buffet we are using for a changing table.
It’s the perfect storage piece for this nursery. Plus, I think that it gives balance to the modern shapes and color palette. I’m still debating on keeping the original finish, or painting it. Either way, I will change out the hardware (….hmmm, that transformation could be another post all together!). More to come on that.
In the mean time, here is my inspiration vision for E’s nursery:
What do you think?
I just know I’m finally ready to put together this happy place for this busy little boy…
