5 DIY’s I’ll Probably Never Get Around To Doing… But Really Want To.

I’m kind of a DIY poser.

I’ll admit it.

Seriously, I love a good DIY project.

Looking at posts from my fellow bloggers gets me all excited… makes me think, “Hey, I could totally do that!”.  I even imagine myself posting about it on MY blog – entering a whole new territory of DIY-blogging goodness.

DIY p-o-s-e-r.

Honestly, the intentions are all there (what’s that saying about “good intentions” again?…), I just fall short in the execution.  I’m either too tired, too busy, or just plain forget.

So, today I’m writing this post (along with the longest title ever) in hopes of motivating myself to get on the ball and finish 5 projects that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.  I’m giving myself six months to complete them.  That’s less than one a month.  Shouldn’t be too difficult, right?  (See? I’m getting all excited again.)

In reality, I’ll probably just hang my head in shame when I don’t really finish them all… Sigh.

Gold Leaf Terracotta Pots

I’ve got a fine little collection of terra-cotta pots growing in my backyard.  What’s the problem here?

Wood Sculpture

Just saw this one today from my friend Jennifer at Brave New Home.  I’m a little obsessed.  So much so, that while on a walk today I took some branches off of a neighbors trashcan.  Now they sit.  Just waiting to be made into something awesome.

Mounted Antlers

Okay, this one isn’t originally a DIY, but I figured it wouldn’t be that difficult.  Plus, it could be festive for the winter – or dialed down with a different fabric for year round decor.  How adorable would one of these be with a fun print and white resin Jackalope in, say, a nursery?  Hmmm…

Brass Trim Frames

This one’s been on the list FOR-EV-ER.  The funny thing is that I have all of the ingredients.  I just need to put them together.  Okay.  Decision.  I’m doing this tomorrow.

Home is Where the Heart Is

I love the idea of this.  It caught my eye because I’m a Cali-girl through and through, and I jump at the chance to show where I came from.  Plus, I thought it was a darling idea for a his/hers combo.

Okay, so five projects in six months.

I can do this.

I can do this.

  I can do this.

I love the terracotta pots and his and her frames! Very cute! I’m going to buy some gold leaf today and spruce up all my plain pots!

  2. Thanks for featuring my wood sculpture. If it makes you feel any better, my manzanita branch laid around, I mean dried out, for about a year before I actually got around to doing anything with it 😛
