Clearly… Clearly… Clearly

I still love lucite.  There.  I said it.  I think it’s one of those longterm love affairs (much like my love for all things grey) that stands the test of time.

It’s modern.

It’s classic.

It’s totally chic.

Adding it to more traditional interior style instantly = an instant modern update, and creates a fresh texture change.  You know what I’m talking about.  How amazing do those Louis Ghost chairs look with a rustic wood dining table?   Really.  Awesome.

Keeping this clear gem in small doses (…think bookends, trays, accent tables…) adds just the right amount edge and ups the cool factor of your interior.

Trends will come and go, oh yes, but my love of lucite is forever.

Here’s why (above image via Vogue)…

  1. I love lucite (and acrylic that looks like lucite) too! I’ve been keeping my eye out for something affordable for the living room. I agree, I think these pieces are versatile and can withstand the test of time.

    • I totally should have clarified the difference between acrylic and actual lucite. It’s definitely more wallet friendly. A great option to get the “look for less”. I’ve been keeping my eye out, too! I broke down and ordered the acrylic tray from CB2. Can’t wait to get it! 🙂

  2. But doesn’t a teeny piece of you want to write your name in paint pen on the lucite furniture, Paper Rabbit-style? 😉

    • Ha Ha… Yes, that thought totally crossed my mind. I had SO many of those acrylic boxes! I guess my love of the stuff began at an early age. 🙂
