Right now I’m kind of crushing on an old friend.
Call it a rediscovery.
Have you ever had something, and really thought it was amazing, and awesome, and perfect…and then completely forgot about it only to rediscover it a few years later with the same wonderment and attraction you had before?
Well, that best describes my rediscovery of the La Fiorentina fabric by David Hick’s for Lee Jofa.
I was browsing Houzz.com for some blog inspiration, and WHAM! It might as well have just reached out and smacked me in the face.
Although it’s been around for a few years, the pattern still looks fresh and current (…and perfect for this 2013’s geometric trend!), and I love, love, love all of the different color options!
Right now I’m really attracted to La Fiorentina in wine/magenta (see above), but also love the idea of using the Domino (black and white) color way as upholstery on a main piece of furniture for maximum impact (…although I don’t think that R would appreciate reupholstering the sofa anytime soon. I’ll have to work on that one…) Also, the white/tan color combination is the perfect way to add a graphic pattern that’s not too overpowering.
The great thing is that this fabric is readily available (I always check out spots like Etsy for sweet deals on designer fabrics like this!), and super versatile… even in the bold color ways!
Isn’t rediscovery grand?
THE PIC THAT SPURRED MY REDISCOVERY!
Are you crushing (or rediscover-crushing) as much as I am?
p.s. I wanted to give a special THANKS to Artreka for inviting me to participate in their giveaway this week, and to all you who participated yesterday!
Remember, the giveaway continues thorough the rest of the week, so be sure to check the Artreka web site to see what blog is hosting each day.
Who doesn’t like discovering awesome new blogs, right?!
