Kitchen Details

Greetings from the road… again.

Honestly, it’s been a bit more difficult to blog from the road that I had expected (who knew time away would be so busy!), but I was able to catch an hour of browsing around for some design inspiration.

I’m glad that I did because I found some inspiration (and maybe a little bit of kitchen envy) in these pics.

I love the details in these kitchens because they feel current and modern (you know I love the trends before they’re seen everywhere…), but still have a timeless style that won’t look dated in a few years.

Here are some of my favorites:

This is the picture that initially caught my eye and started the envy creative wheels turning.  When done correctly – like with these great glass paned doors – you can create a very sophisticated and modern detail.  LOVE!

What’s not to love about using natural elements to bring depth and texture to a space.  It looks especially fresh paired with simple white tile, and a light, airy color palette.

Hmmm…. seems like I’ve talked about this trend before

This one isn’t really a new trend, but I’m loving some of the bold color choices that are being introduced.  Just keep the cabinets themselves simple, and try pairing an interesting color with an ultra sleek backsplash and counter (love the chartreuse and Carrera marble combo!).

I love this idea.  It could be taken in so many different directions. I imagine a soft gray or even an deep blue to add contrast, color, and interest to an other wise bland space.  It’s a detail that adds just a bit of something special.  Truly unique!

Again, this isn’t a new concept, but I love the idea of using the tile as a wall covering for the entire kitchen – not just limited to behind the sink or range.  I love how it adds a layer of “gloss” to the overall texture of the space here.

What do you think?

Do you find inspiration here?

  1. I love the black and white contrasting cabinets – especially with the marble backsplash. I think we’re going to go for a marble subway tile look like that when we redo the new house’s kitchen.
