I hope you all had a relaxing and recharging Thanksgiving weekend. I can’t believe it’s already come and gone.
R and I were able to spend time with family and friends (…and spend a lot of time in our PJ’s on the sofa, which is never a bad thing!).
Thanksgiving afternoon went to the horses…literally.
We spend some time out at my in-laws, and visited with two of their horses – Two Socks and Uncle Fudge. Both were very sweet (although I think if given the opportunity Uncle Fudge would have eaten my ponytail), and the experience got me thinking about design – shocking, I know.
I’ve never been a huge fan of “equestrian” style interiors – they’ve always seemed a bit too traditional in my mind. The brooding colors…saddles…riding boots…textured leather…horse paintings… you get the picture.
I think that the style is evolving, though, into a kind of “equestrian-chic”, that combines rustic elements and rich textures with simpler silhouettes and softer color palettes. That eclectic mix is something that really appeals to me.
Okay, maybe I’m becoming a fan of the “new equestrian”…
So, in honor of Two Socks and Uncle Fudge, here are some of my favorite (new)equestrian inspired interiors.
Here are a few pieces that can bring a bit of equestrian style into your interior…
What do you think? Would you ever add a bit of new equestrian style to your home?
